LOCATION
Vaoto Lodge is located on the beautiful, unspoiled island of
Ofu in the Manu`a Islands group in American Samoa.
American Samoa is 2,600 miles south-southwest of Honolulu and
4,800 miles southwest of California. It's the southernmost possession
of the United States at 14-degrees south latitude and just east
of the International Dateline. Ofu lies 60 miles east of the
main island of Tutuila.
The currency in the Territory is the U.S. dollar and Samoan
and English are spoken everywhere.
Vaoto Lodge is only steps away from Ofu Airport which is served
by Inter Island Air out of Pago Pago. A 30-minute flight takes
you to the lodge's doorstep.
The Lodge is owned and operated by the Malae family and has
ten clean, comfortable rooms. Marge serves three meals a day
in the lodge dining room which also features a library, videos
and DVDs, TV, games, and a telephone. Internet access is also
available. Outside, there is a large patio area and front yard,
and just across the road is Vaoto's own beach.

Meals are served "family style" at one large table
which makes for a perfect way to meet people and make new friends.
Talk about what you saw on the reef today, what you saw on the
mountain, or who you met in the village. There is always good
conversation at Vaoto!
Each room has two beds, hot and cold running water, fan, and
private restroom with shower. Water on Ofu is safe to drink
and there are no dangerous animals or insects on the island.
In the Manu`a Islands the day and night temperatures linger
in the eighties and there's usually a cool breeze off the sea
to keep things nice and comfortable. The water temperature is
in the low eighties and the visibility is typically better than
50 feet, so bring your snorkel!
